GIFT CARD PERSONALIZATION:

Personalization is the specialized process involving data management of card and PIN numbers, and then applying those
numbers accurately to the actual card plastic.

Data Integrity, data management, accuracy and ensuring cards meet defined specifications are processes that must be
trusted to a company like Optimum that employs a high degree of quality and integrity.

Optimum ensures that the cards we produce are functional and made to the correct specifications for whatever sales channel
is used to sell the cards. We offer the latest industry technology and equipment to handle personalization, including:
  • Drop On Demand (DOD) – DOD is an ultraviolet curable ink that gives a high resolution barcode and human readable number (300 dpi). The ink is durable and prevents the altering of card numbers, reducing fraud. This equipment was specifically designed for the gift card industry and is quickly become the industry standard.

  • MEK – MEK is a solvent-based ink, also developed specifically for gift cards and certificates. This older technology is useful across a wider range of card and paper substrates, but offers a lower resolution (180 dpi), which lends a slight bit-map characteristic to numbers and barcode images. This ink is less durable, but a less expensive and faster personalization process.
